This plugin allows to protect specific content items with passwords.

Do you have content which is not public, and it is not worth to create a user group and a user to restrict access to the article? Then ContentPassword is the right tool. It allows setting passwords for single articles by simply typing the password in the article text. There is even an option to verify the password with an SQL-statement. The new version 2.0 introduces password groups, which allows to set an SQL-statement and multiple passwords for a group name in the backend. Then you only have to add the group to the article and all passwords are automatically assigned.

The download contains english and german language files. Other languages may be available in Joomla/Language

This plugin won't work if the cache is enabled in a standard Joomla installation. You will have to install the following patch after each Joomla update:
Patch: Plugin Event for Cache

To protect the content in search, replace the content search plugin with the Extended Content Search Plugin.
To protect the content in RSS and Atom-feeds, you will have to patch some files as described here.
